Bi-coastal data centers provide foundation for Canadian expansion to meet explosive demand of Canadian partners

TORONTO, ON – August 3, 2016 — / — Datto, the provider of total data protection solutions for businesses worldwide, today announced the opening of a new data center in Calgary, to serve the increasing demand for data protection services from its Canadian managed service partners. The new Calgary site complements the Toronto data center, opened in 2013, to provide Canadian customers with the same level of data protection afforded by more than 50,000 businesses globally. The Canadian expansion comes on the back of Datto’s recent entry into Southeast Asia with the opening of its Singapore data center.

As one of the only data protection providers to deploy multiple sites in Canada, Datto’s bi-coastal data centers give customers the flexibility to store and secure data in three possible locations: Toronto, Calgary, and the customer’s local SIRIS device. The new Calgary location also enables Datto partners to expand into larger markets and scale for growth to meet the growing needs of midmarket and enterprise customers.

“Our customers love working with local partners, so Datto’s bi-coastal data centers are a bonus on top of Datto’s well-stacked line of data protection products,” said Ryan Richardet, Vice President of SysGen Solutions Group. “Now we can completely serve our growing client base with bi-coastal data protection for added peace of mind.”

Canada continues to be a rapidly growing market for Datto, with a four-fold increase in Canadian partners since 2014. The addition of the Calgary data center will enable Datto to expand its footprint and reach into Canada, with continued investment in people, infrastructure and facilities.

“Our top priority is helping our partners grow and working together, successfully to protect the world’s data,” said Urvish Badiani, Sales Director, Canada. “Our partners look for every advantage to deliver the best for their customers. The new Calgary data center helps our fast-growing partner base meet their customer expectations for quick access to secure data via redundant, reliable data centers.”
