During the largest gathering of Managed Service Providers in Europe, Datto launches new services and product updates to support MSPs in rapidly growing region

DattoCon EMEA – LONDON, UK – October 27, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Datto, the leading provider of total data protection solutions for businesses around the world, today announced accelerated growth across EMEA during its record setting DattoCon EMEA partner conference. With partner attendance up a staggering 178 percent compared to last year, Datto unveiled several product updates designed to help Datto’s MSP partners continue expanding their market opportunities by protecting business data, no matter where it lives.

Over the course of 2016, Datto has experienced significant growth in EMEA resulting in unprecedented demand for Datto’s solutions. Datto continues to expand and is currently supporting partners in 18 countries across the region. Datto’s Reading, UK office increased headcount by 60 percent this year in addition to opening a new European headquarters to keep up with employee growth. With EMEA revenue up 50 percent compared to this time last year and expectations for continued growth, Datto is making additional investments in the region in 2017 and beyond.

DattoCon EMEA has become the largest MSP channel event in Europe with more than 300 MSPs in attendance. With a security theme for the event, attendees will hear from featured luminaries such as Dame Stella Rimington, former general director of MI5, the UK’s domestic counterintelligence and security agency, and Jamie Bartlett, Daily Telegraph journalist and author of The Dark Net. Dame Stella will highlight her work leading all three departments of MI5, including counter surveillance, counter subversion and counter terrorism, and Bartlett will discuss today’s cybersecurity climate and online privacy, respectively.

During the morning’s conference keynote, Datto CEO Austin McChord launched several new software and hardware updates to support its fast growing MSP partner base in EMEA, including the world’s first Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) solution to combat ransomware. Of particular interest to EMEA partners looking to store their customer’s data in region is the new release of geographical backup replication across Datto’s EMEA data centers. In 2016, Datto opened several European data centers to offer EMEA partners more choice, including data centers in Iceland and Frankfurt, Germany.

In order to support MSPs in EMEA and beyond, Datto announced the following new solutions and enhancements:

  • Datto SIRIS 3, the fully integrated total data protection platform, now includes the industry’s first ransomware detection capability. When ransomware is detected, SIRIS 3 notifies admins and allows them to roll back to a state before the ransomware hit, saving businesses from downtime and avoiding the ransom. Further, SIRIS 3 now includes advanced screenshot verification, providing script execution to ensure even the most complex backups are viable. A local instance of Datto’s file sync and share solution, Datto Drive, as well as four new device options – the all flash 2 Terabyte (TB) S3X2, and new 80, 100 and 120 TB enterprise devices ensure SIRIS 3 sets a new benchmark for disaster recovery.
  • Datto NAS 3, the cloud protected network storage solution, now offers Infinite Cloud Retention (ICR). ICR allows customers to save all of their data to the Datto Cloud indefinitely, regardless of capacity used. In addition, Datto NAS 3 is available with all new hardware, as well as block level deduplication for local shares. Two additional features, NAS Guard and Datto Drive local, make Datto NAS 3 the network storage appliance of choice for small and medium-sized businesses. NAS Guard allows Datto NAS to connect with, back up and protect in the cloud any data stored anywhere on local network storage. Datto Drive local brings all of the benefits of Datto Drive file sync and share to the local network device.
  • Datto Backupify, the cloud-to-cloud data protection solution, added several features, including new pricing tiers and new seat management capabilities. EMEA MSPs can now individually select which cloud user accounts to back up in order to manage costs. Also unveiled was the new management panel, simplifying the management, monitoring and troubleshooting of customer accounts via the partner portal. Partners can now easily purchase and provision Datto Backupify licenses to protect their customer’s data in the cloud.
  • Other announcements include 2 Factor Authentication for the Partner Portal and an updated Status 2.0 that makes monitoring and managing Datto Devices simpler with configurable alert thresholds. Datto Drive enhancements were also released, including user activity reporting, daily backups, management utilities, and custom theming.

“Our clients can’t afford downtime or data loss as a result of a disaster or cyberattack,” said Colin Blumenthal, Managing Director, Complete I.T. “When a disaster does strike, we need products that we can rely on to save our clients’ businesses. Datto provides fully integrated products that help us demonstrate value and build trust by protecting their data, so that when the worst happens, we can quickly recover business services.”

“Businesses around the world entrust their data and daily operations to Managed Service Providers, which is why our partners need every advantage to be heroes when their clients need them the most,” said Austin McChord, founder and CEO of Datto. “Datto’s enhancements announced today build on our long history of making MSPs successful and delivering great value for their end customers.”

Andrew Stuart, Managing Director of Datto EMEA commented on the developments, “Rapid, reliable data recovery is high on MSPs’ priority lists, especially given the growing number of risks to businesses. Partners at DattoCon were given a first glimpse of new additions to Datto’s portfolio which serve as potent weapons to help our EMEA partner base protect critical business data for their customers.”
